Paua Bay Wines was founded in 2007. The four Director-shareholders are:
Alan McCorkindale – Director/Winemaker
Alan is Paua Bay Wines' winemaker and regarded internationally as one of NZ’s leading winemakers. Alan graduated as Dux of Australia’s prestigious Roseworthy College in 1983, and has 30 years winemaking experience both in NZ and Europe. Alan was Chief Winemaker Marlborough for Corbans NZ before their takeover by Montana. Since leaving Corbans Alan has developed a successful and busy wine consultancy business, directing the production of many of NZ’s favourite and award-winning wines.
Lew Stribling – Director/ Chief Executive Officer
Lew is the CEO of Paua Bay Wines. He has been involved in the NZ wine industry since 1988 and was previously the CEO of Waipara Hills Wine Estate Limited, then a public company founded in 2001 which won 7 national and international trophies and 32 gold medals over four vintages under his stewardship.
Ian Blowers – Director
From 2002 through to 2007 Ian was Sales and Export Manager for Waipara Hills Wine Estate. Prior to this Ian had been the Marketing Manager for Wine Marlborough and had also been the Co-ordinator of the Marlborough Wine and Food Festival. Ian has a long involvement in the wine industry most recently with Gravitas Wines in Marlborough.
Glenn Hansen – Director/Company Accountant
Glenn is a Chartered Accountant, and a former Partner of accountancy firm Bayliss Sharr & Hansen. Glenn has been involved in preparing financial budgets, financial reports and advice to several wine companies over the past 15 years. With his unique combination of training (B.Comm in Horticultural Management), and experience in production management, Glenn brings a strong practical understanding to the financial management of Paua Bay Wines.
